This year I was invited to participate for the first time in the World Team Cup in the Dutch women’s team. The World Team Cup is the world championships for national teams. When meeting a country you play 2 singles and 1 doubles. I was in a team with Diede de Groot and Jiske Griffioen led by our coach Amanda Hopmans. We were in the group with China and Switzerland. The first day we played against China, we won both the singles and the doubles. Then we played against Switzerland, we won the singles and the doubles again. This meant that we had reached the semi-finals, which we played against France. We also won this meeting, which allowed us to play the final. We won the final against Japan after a decisive double. Which meant we became world champions!

It was super cool that I became world champion with the team at my first participation in the World Team Cup in the women’s team.
