In July, I played two back to back tournaments in Belgium. The first tournament was Flanders 25 (ITF3) in Leuven. After a rainy start of the tournament I won my first singles match 6-0 6-2 against the Belgian player Els Verhoeven. This meant that I would play the quarter final against Britta Wend, I won this match 6-1 6-4. In the semi-final I was playing against Katharina Kruger, the current number 13 on the ITF ranking. After a long, close match I unfortunately lost 5-7 6-2 2-6. Despite the fact that I lost, it was a good experience to play against a more experienced player. In doubles I played together with Jinte Bos. We won the quarterfinal 6-0 6-1 against Mieke van Chastelet and Els Verhoeven. In the semi final we played against the German doubles pair Katharina Kruger and Britta Wend. Sadly enough, we lost 6-2 3-6 9-11.

After Flanders 25 I directly went to the next tournament in Belgium, the Belgian Open (ITF1). This tournament was a higher level than I normally play. In the first round I had to play against Mariska Venter, I won this match 6-4 6-4. The second round was against Macarena Cabrillana, number 11 on the ITF ranking. I knew it would be a tough match to win, but I did it. The score was 2-6 6-4 6-1. After that, I played against the Japanese player Saki Takamuro, I won this match 6-4 6-4. I won the semi final 7-6(4) 6-0 against Cornelia Oosthuizen. Which meant I reached the final. Unfortunately I lost it 4-6 5-7 against Zhenzhen Zhu, the current number 4 on the ITF ranking. I am really happy with the level of tennis I have showed that week. It was an amazing experience to play a final at an ITF1 tournament with so much audience next to the court.

In August, I’m going to Romania for 10 days to play two tournaments (ITF Futures Series).
